Together with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Hungarian National Trading House Cls. (HNTH) organized a business seminar in Budapest for the ambassadors from Latin America with diplomatic representations in the Hungarian capital or in Vienna. Ambassadors from twelve Latin American countries attended the event which provided a unique chance for identifying concrete business interests together with exploring potential capacities and technological solutions offered by Hungarian companies. Regarding food industry, water management and infrastructure three Hungarian enterprises (namely Budapest Waterworks, National Toll Payment Plc., Pannon Fine Food Ltd.) presented their technologies and products. Some of the diplomats participated in on-site factory visits in Northern Hungary as well.
In 2015, the Hungarian government announced the ‘Opening to the South Strategy’ to strengthen diplomatic, economic, scientific and cultural ties with two rapidly developing regions, namely Latin-America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Within the framework of this strategy new embassies and trading house offices were opened in these regions, Hungarian Eximbank provided credit lines for export companies and Hungarian universities also offered scholarship opportunities for students.
HNTH has commercial presence in some 40 countries (including Mexico, Brazil and Chile). It primarily supports Hungarian enterprises that are capable of exporting in finding adequate business partners and entering into international markets. Complex services provided by the HNTH include inter alia linking supply and demand, business consultation (market information, financing, logistic solutions), export process management and integration of goods base for fulfilling large scale of demand.
