Polish President Andrzej Duda and the US President Donald Trump are expected to sign a military agreement on locations for more American troops in Poland when they meet in New York on Monday. Krzysztof Szczerski, chief of staff to the Polish president, said that both leaders would sign off on the agreement during bilateral talks on the sidelines of a United Nations gathering in New York.

The United States pledged to deploy around 1,000 extra troops to Poland under a declaration signed by the Polish and US presidents at the White House in June. Around 4,500 rotating American troops are already stationed in the country on average as part of a NATO force.

Hungary

In 2018, FDI in Hungary was worth EUR9.243bn, annual data published by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) shows as the MTI news agency informed.

The total income was EUR5.932bn of reinvested earnings, EUR3.180bn of dividends and EUR131m of interest, MNB reported. But in general FDI was down slightly from EUR9.388bn y/y.

Croatia

State-owned Croatia Airlines will be recapitalized by the state and will receive HRK250m (EUR34m), the Croatian government informed. The recapitalization model will be elaborated by the end of this year, with the first installment of HRK90m (EUR12m) available to Croatia Airlines immediately in early 2020.

At the same time, the process of seeking a strategic partner to privatize Croatia Airlines is continuing, and financial advisers will develop a model by the end of the year to begin the privatization, HINA news agency reported.
