Croatia will invest more than HRK1bn in energy renovation of residential buildings

More than HRK1bn will be invested in energy renovation of residential buildings in the following two years, PM Andrej Plenkovic and other ministers presented the results from the competition of the construction ministry announced last October. The competition ended in late January with total of 616 projects picked up out of 648 applications, which means that more than 17,000 households will benefit. Plenkovic noted that in addition to benefits in terms of reduction in energy costs (by 66.8%) and CO2 emissions (by 20,500 tons), there would be also gains for the construction sector. As much as HRK629mn (EUR84.5m) will be covered from EU funds (60% of the project amounts), which exceeds the EUR70m designated for that purpose in the 2014-2020 period, the premier also said.
