The EBRD is ready to provide a EUR70m loan for the construction of the first phase of Corridor Vc through RS but the loan agreement could be signed only after BiH adopts hikes on excise taxes on fuel, RS transport minister Nedjo Trninic said on Tuesday. The construction of the 6km-long stretch from Johovac to Rudanka could start next spring provided that the hike is approved. Trninic voiced optimism that the excise tax changes will be adopted soon. Head of the RS public highway company Autoputevi RS Dusan Topic on his turn said that loan agreement and deal with a contractor could be signed next spring. The loan would be repaid in 15 years and EUR14m of the funds will be grants. The total length of Corridor Vc running through RS is 47km.
