Eurostat: Poland’s August retail sales rise 5.7% y/y on 0.8% monthly increase

Polish August retail sales increased by 5.7% y/y, similar to 5.6% growth in July, and rose by 0.8% m/m, according to a release by the EU stats office Eurostat.

Poland’s stats office GUS earlier reported an annual retail sales decline of 0.3% in August on a monthly decrease of 2.6%. In contrast to the Polish data, Eurostat data include stores with a headcount below ten employees and exclude automotive sales.

Eurostat annual growth figures are working-day adjusted, while the monthly growth figures are seasonally adjusted.
