Indirect tax revenues rose by KM250m or 9.3% y/y to KM2.9bn in Jan-May, local media reported over the weekend citing data from BiH Indirect Tax Authority (ITA). VAT refunds amounted to KM554m, so net revenues of KM2.4bn (up by KM200m or 9.1% y/y) were distributed among users. BiH institutions received KM306m in Jan-May, while the remainder was allocated among FBiH – KM1.3bn, RS — KM637m and Brcko District – KM71m. On the basis of the special toll for the construction of highways that was collected in January, FBiH received also KM6.5m, RS — KM4.3m and Brcko District — KM0.2m. In May alone ITA collected KM650m in indirect tax revenues, up by KM73m y/y.
The Macroeconomic Unit (OMA) of the Governing Board of ITA projects that net revenues will rise by 6.2% y/y to KM6.08bn in 2018. OMA thus upped its 2018 net revenue projection by KM77.7m compared to October projection.
