A technical mission of the IMF will arrive in BiH in November, newly appointed IMF Resident Representative Andrew Jewell said on Thursday during a meeting with RS PM Radovan Viskovic, according to a press release from the government’s press office. The prime minister informed the IMF official that the RS budget is stable and liquid. He thanked for the support provided by the Fund to RS institutions through technical cooperation in different fields and voiced hope that this cooperation will continue. Jewell said that talks and proposals by the IMF will be more specific once the governments at all levels are formed.
Local media reported a few days ago that the FBiH government has requested technical assistance from the IMF with regard to the enhancement of the supervision of the public companies in the entity and that the RS government was considering sending a similar request. In 2016 BiH concluded a three-year Extended Fund Facility arrangement with the IMF in the amount of EUR553.3m. The Fund has disbursed only two tranches to the country in lack of economic reforms.
