Public sector wages will be hiked by 5-20% as of the beginning of next year, RS PM Radovan Viskovic said on Thursday after a meeting with trade union representatives. He noted that the government has approved a set of laws referring to the increase. Viskovic also said that the hike will not refer to wages with the highest coefficient — of 26.23 and higher. Trade union leader Ranka Misic hailed the government’s decision but said more needs to be done to increase wages in the private sector as well. She reiterated the union’s demand the minimum wage to be hiked to KM 550 as of Jan 1 from current KM450.
