Poland’s unemployment rate in November likely increased by 0.1 ppt m/m to 9.7% and will edge up further in December but won’t exceed 9.9%, the Labor Ministry estimates.
The number of registered jobless at end-November stood at 1.533 mln, the ministry said. The end-October tally had come to 1.517 mln, according to stats office GUS.
Employers filed 87.4k job offers last month.
The November increase is seasonal effect, the ministry reminded.
The estimate matches late November comments from Labor Minister Elzbieta Rafalska, who estimated the unemployment rate at 0.1-0.2 ppt above the October level.
