Albania’s new government will aim at reaching a 5% GDP growth in 2019, PM Edi Rama wrote in the social media, as reported by local media. The second day of the unofficial new ministers’ meeting in Velipoje focused on economic issues, but neither Rama, nor any of the ministers commented it with more details. PM Rama promised already a noticeable reduction of administrative bureaucracy and improvement of the public services’ quality to boost economic growth and relief citizens and businesses.
The other main topics discussed on Sep 7 in Velipoje were Albania’s integration into the EU and the fight against cannabis cultivation. PM Rama said that the cooperation with the opposition parties, i.e. the Democratic Party (DP) and the Social Movement for Integration (SMI) is an important part of Albania’s EU integration process and announced that the commission in charge of integration will be led by the opposition.
