Poland’s registered unemployment slips 0.2 ppt to 9.7 per cent in September

Poland’s registered unemployment rate edged down to 9.7% in September from a revised prior-month level of 9.9%, according to Central Statistical Office (GUS) figures released Friday.

The August jobless rate was revised to 9.9% from 10.0% previously estimated.

The number of registered jobless at end-September measured 1.539 mln, versus 1.5635 mln in the month-prior reading.

The headline reading is below the Labor Ministry’s prior estimate of 9.9%.
