RS plans electricity output of 7.7TWh in 2017

Total electricity production in RS this year is planned at 7,666.3GWh, according to the 2017 energy balance adopted by the entity government on Thursday. Electricity output in 2016 was planned at 7,229.9GWh. According to earlier reports the higher electricity production this year will come thanks to the 300MW Stanari coal-fired power plant, which was officially connected to the grid in 2016, and the anticipated increased electricity generation by small power plants. RS plans coal production of 6.6mn tons, the bulk of which will be used for the TPPs that generate about 65% of the electricity. Crude oil processing is seen at 967,000 tons at Brod oil refinery. RS expects natural gas consumption of 60 million cubic meters this year.
