Russian oil flows to Slovakia have resumed Wednesday evening

Russian oil flows into Slovakia via Ukraine will resume on Wednesday evening, pipeline operator Transpetrol has announced yesterday as Reuters reported. Transpetrol has added that after receiving confirmations from Ukraine’s and Hungary’s transit companies, Ukrtransnafta and MOL, that oil quality meets all standard quality parameters including levels of organic chloride, Transpetrol will restart oil flows to the Slovnaft refinery and other clients.

Recall that flows through the Druzhba pipeline were suspended last month due to contaminated crude in the system that could damage refineries’ equipment. In late-April Slovnaft estimated that the country’s energy security is ensured as Slovakia has at its disposal, if necessary, oil reserves for 92.6 days.
