The growth in sales in services eased further to 1.4% y/y in Q2 from 8.2% y/y in Q1 and 13.1% y/y in Q4 2015, according to current-price data released by Monstat. In quarterly terms, sales in services rose by 10.6% in Q2 after declining by 12.5% q/q in the first three months of this year. Detailed data showed that sales in administrative and support service activities eased to 27.8% y/y in Q2 from 36.4% y/y in Q1 and sales in the real estate sector dropped by 3.5% y/y after growing by 35.1% y/y in Q1.
Sales in scientific, education, ICT, transport and entertainment services also declined in annual terms in Q2 after posting growth in the previous quarter. The growth in sales of accommodation and food services also eased sharply to 7.7% y/y in Q2 from 38.1% y/y in Q1.
