Six consortiums submit bids for revamp of Montenegrin Pljevlja

Six consortiums have submitted bids for the development of a preliminary project for the overhaul at the existing unit at the Pljevlja thermal power plant. The consortiums that submitted bids include a group led by Czech engineering firm Skoda Praha, which was supposed to build a second unit at the Pljevlja TPP. The bidders also include two Croatian consortiums, two German companies and a group, based in Podgorica. The tender for the development of a preliminary project for an environmental revamp of the unit was launched on Dec 25 last year at an initial price of EUR900,000. The selected bidder will design the preliminary project and select a contractor and provider of equipment for the project.

The ecological rehabilitation of the existing unit aims to ensure its operation for at least 20 additional years and provide conditions for the installation of a rapid heating system at the plant. The revamp is estimated to cost EUR40m and completion is scheduled for 2021.
