Ukraine’s central bank files UAH4.3bn counterclaim on Kolomoysky

The NBU has filed a UAH4.26bn counterclaim against the former owner of Privatbank Ihor Kolomoysky, it emerged after the ruling of the Pivnichny economic court of appeal on Aug 8. In the lawsuit Kolomoysky wants the court to nullify a guarantee on a UAH4.3bn refinancing loan received from the NBU. The development is part of the complex legal battle after the nationalization of Privatbank. Also on Aug 8, the Kiyv economic court postponed to Sept 3 the lawsuit on the nationalization of the bank. Meanwhile, the former FinMin and now part of Ukraine’s president team, Danilyuk, defended the decision to nationalize Privatbank back in 2016, but added that the issue should be solved in court.
